You aren’t kids. You’ve travelled down a few roads. You know a thing or two. So this is a simple question:

What’s easier?

• To find fault in each other as you “lovingly” share what it is you both lack because you want what’s best…

• To stay quiet because you’ve tried over and over again but with no results so…

• Or, to seek out the treasures hidden within each other, celebrate those treasures, and tell each other what it is that you see that makes you so precious despite your shortfalls…

Is easier better in the long run?

Life is often more complicated than three bullet points. I know. Nonetheless, should I hazard a guess, I would say you’ve experienced all of them and are acquainted with the varying results that they produce.

Sadly, as time goes on, the last point often fades into the distance and with it, balance. And so our ability at handling relational difficulties in a way that builds and not breaks, need some fine-tuning. At times, it’s as simple as a gentle reminder.

With a loving nudge in an appropriate setting, a willingness to work for it and a desire for more, you are able to reorient and give yourselves the gift of understanding.
